Great write up in Daily Record today. Really encouraging to see this takeaway doing well.....at least it offers something a bit different to the usual run-of-the-mill.

Hope their chips are a bit fresher than this story - which appeared in both The Advertiser and the Evening News a few weeks back! Nice to see the Record so on the ball...

Now I'm not an expert on diet, but I'm fairly sure battering vegetables isn't really the healthiest way of preparing vegetables.

However, following on from this, can I use this thread to dispel a myth about a certain chippie in Stonehaven.

The Scots can claim to have invented many, many things from Television to tarmac to bicycles to breach loading rifles to where ever you want to go.............

We did not invent the deep fried Mars Bar!

The Spanish came up with the idea of deep frying chocolate bars years (possibly centuries) before us. The idea was exported to Latin America and became hugely popular, especially in Mexico.

The Spanish even have a name for this delight, but I've forgotten what it is. However, while searching for the Spanish name, I came across the following. A menu for a Mexican Restaurant in the U.S.

Scroll down to "Authentic Mexican Desserts".......... and feel your arteries hardening as you read.

Just the thought of their version of a deep fried mars bar makes me squeamish Rolling Eyes
