Mobiles at the wheel Empty
PostSubject: Mobiles at the wheel   Mobiles at the wheel Icon_minitimeWed Aug 29, 2007 8:41 pm

Is it just me or does there seem to be more and more people driving round at the moment with a mobile stuck to one ear. Last night was the worst example at Ploverhall roundabout when a petrol tanker pulled out of the A703 with the driver clearly on the phone, then today I spotted a white van being driven from the Mound with a driver on the phone, changing gear and smoking a fag at the same time! Do people like myself need to develop new talents or do these numpties need to acquire some common sense?

I couldn't agree more Evil or Very Mad This is one of my pet hates. Why do people think that they are such good drivers that they are capable of doing two things at once? They may get away with it on a number of occasions but it's always a gamble. It's the ones that are coming round corners that really annoy me. How can they steer the car, change gear, brake and concentrate on a phone call all at the same time?

It is actually illegal now - so it would be interesting to find out just how many people have been convicted of the offence. We all see people driving while using mobiles day in, day out - so why are the police not doing anything about it?
