The Tidiest Election Ever?

This election has seen one very noticeable difference with no posters being allowed on lampposts or signs, especially since certain parties were very slow at taking them down. (usually red coloured ones)
It has been strange to not see many posters in house windows but then have many people heading down to vote - hopefully it is going to make a difference to the final result

i was only saying earlier this has been the quietest election ever. i have no idea who my local candidates are. Im sure if i was really interested i could of found out but im not. I voted today for someone, i had no idea who he was but i went for the party not the candidate.

I was concerned however my son wanted me to vote labour because his teacher told the class what a nice man he was and if he was elected he promised to visit the school. That didnt feel right to me but i dont know how much influence a primrary school child will have on their parents votes.

i also noted the lack of posters on lampposts. i get so annoyed seeing them still there weeks later.

Well it looks like it has turned in to a very boring election in Scotland with the usual Labour landslide - when will the voters ever learn? I imagine Dalkeith can now look forward to our MP doing lots more for the town while other areas (who might not support him) are left behind as ever

In areas like Midlothian, Labour could market themselves as the worst possible choice vowing to do nothing and the voters would still let 'em in! All we get is mumping and moaning about how bad things are, then when a chance comes along to change it what happens ? Waste of time...

I must admit that I was surprised at how busy the polling station was. I went to vote on my way home from work and met one of my foster kids who was voting for the first time. When we went in there were only 2 people in front of us. However, coming out there was a long queue of people. It will be interesting to see what percentage of people voted.

Nice to see all the posters and notices all seem to have gone. I imagine that many of the people who voted are now wondering why they bothered since it seems we are going to end up with Labour MPs in Scotland,an SNP Scottish government and a Conservative UK government plus a European Parliament who make most of the laws anyway (especially regarding what they do themselves)

Turnout in Midlothian was 63.9 per cent this time, compared to 62.7 in 2005. I did notice, however, that in some seats, it was very high - I think I spotted 82% in one area.
