Came of the roundabout at Gowkley heading for Penicuik when a red Peaugeot appeared in view gathering speed, as I took to the outside lane of the dual carriageway with nothing in front so was on the 40 limit an elderly gentleman (complete with wide brimed hat) caught up with me took to the bus lane and passed me I'd reckon doing about 60 - naturally of course I then ended up following him all the way into Penicuikk as he got caught in the traffic so gained sod all out of it. If the traffic lights had changed i doubt he'd have managed to stop, this was at 5pm so bus lane in operation and essentially he was undertaking and it's the younger drivers that continually get the blame for bad driving......

On Wednesday morning this week the traffic heading from Penicuik towards Bilston was heavy and I joined the tail of the queue just past Glencorse Golf Club followed by a purple ford fiesta being driven by a young woman. I couldn't help but notice though that when the traffic was moving her car seemed to be heading into the kerb, then back out again basically swerving then failed to move when traffic moved and I had concerns about her stopping when the traffic did. The problem was simple, it looked to me like using her mobile phone was more a priority than safe driving.. To say I was relieved when she turned off... What do people not realise - using phones when driving is illegal, dangerous, selfish and shows no respect for other road users.

It seems you're not alone in your dislike of people using mobile phones while driving.
