I couldn't quite work out where exactly the "proposed" Penicuik station is located.
Can anyone tell me?

It seems like it is in the "very convenient" location of Pomathorn Mill and would use the former Peebles Railway route via Rosewell and Bonnyrigg. More details can be read here:
