Looks like we could be losing the free bags that the council supply for the food bins;

Great, that will probably provide some people with an excuse to start using the grey bins
for getting rid of their food waste since they will refuse to buy the liners Sad

PostSubject: No waste collection on John Street   Food bin collection Icon_minitimeThu Sep 19, 2019 1:00 pm

Thanks to the gas works bin collections along John Street have pretty much ground to a halt between the Tesco garage and the miners, they have been sporadic since the works started in that grey and blue bins have been getting emptied whilst the brown and food haven't, more particularly on the garage side. Apparently the issue is that bin lorries are not allowed to stop which kind of make sense - so if you think the street is looking increasingly like a wheelie bin storage ground then that is why.. Of course if you check the social media or bin collection issues part of the website there is no mention of this issue..

I would imagine that those who are paying for their brown bins to be emptied are going
to be even more unhappy about it.

To give credit to the council, yesterday afternoon a small truck appeared and a crew emptied all the bins that were needing emptied - not ideal parking further along the street and having to go back and forward but they done it..
