Penicuik Windows? Empty

Does anyone know what is happening with them as the factory seems very quiet with no vans outside, the "Trade Counter" is now closed and the display conservatories have all gone.
It would be a shame if they have closed down, especially with no word that I have seen in the local press.

Told you - company has gone into receivership. Sad day for the guys who work there, especially as some of them have been there for 20 years or more.

Recievership isn't necessarily the end. Having "been there, done it and got the T-shirt" twice during the Thatcher era, I speak from experience.

The reciever will always try to sell the business (as opposed to the actual company) as a "going-concern", and the process of recievership itself can be a way of freeing a troubled business of historical problems and giving it a fresh start under new ownership.

A weel kent name like Penicuik Windows will, I'm certain, be attractive to many potential buyers once the Reciever effectively takes its past problems on to his own shoulders and puts the name, assets and order book up for sale, unencumbered by the old company's debts.

For the time being at least, the Reciever will probably employ the workforce himself, and thereafter...... Well, let's hope!

Help me out here. I'm confused. Is this more old news?

I checked with someone and it seems that they have moved to Pentland Industrial Estate in Loanhead but with a much reduced workforce. The factory in Penicuik seems to have closed with much of the machinery being chopped up for scrap and windows etc being brought in from the main factory of Transform Conservatories who took them over.
