Post office break in Empty
PostSubject: Post office break in   Post office break in Icon_minitimeSat Mar 19, 2011 7:27 pm

I hear that the post office in Penicuik was broken into last night. The reason I know is that a friend of mine had ordered tickets for a football game next week. The postman tried to deliver them yesterday but my friend had gone out shortly before and they were taken back to the delivery room. He went to retrieve them this morning and that is when he found out that the thieves had taken away the safe that they had been stored in Mad He will now have to wait until Monday to find out if he is able to obtain replacements.

I don't mean to sound cynical...........

Actually, that's a lie: I don't care a stuff if this sounds cynical. Too many things have been posted to me but have never arrived.

Do Post Office or Royal Mail workers have to go through the Disclosure Scotland checks?

I missed delivery of a parcel last weekend, went to collect yesterday and was told after a 10 min look about that there had been a breakin and that I should call Customer Services to take it further. Nothing more than a £4.50 MP3 charger but all the same I'll be on the phone to them Monday...

Seems that the robbers took the safe then stole one of the vans and crashed through the gate to escape. They were busy fixing it today when I was down the street.

My friend managed to receive replacement tickets. However, his luck has now taken another turn for the worse as he is now stuck on his way down to the match Rolling Eyes http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-12871897

Aye, it's all true! I looked out my kitchen window in Bonnyrigg on the Saturday morning to see Royal Mail van on fire! Shocked
