| | Last night I had the misfortune to be on an X47 heading for Penicuik, which I could only descibe as being like a sardine tin on wheels, folks jammed in and that was before even getting to South Bridge! Anyway some nice friendly chap decided he wanted off the bus on Liberton Brae, so squeezed through to the exit door and dinged the bell at which point the driver informed him that the bus didn't stop until Straiton, fair enough and the said passenger returned upstairs - Only to reappear minutes later to ask the driver (very loudly) to let him off the f bus, then informed the driver that he was a f jobsworth of a f driver and basically thats what filled the journey all the way to Straiton. The final straw was when the irrate passenger asked everyone else if they minded the bus being stopped to let him off and the abuse this guy got from others on the bus was awesome, if I'd had a swear box and charged £1 a word I could be at the airport now never mind work.. Should be one person that never tries to chance his luck on a limited stop again.. |

| One of the main reasons why I really don't DO buses - unless I absolutely have to! |

| | I like it when some bus drivers announce that there will be no more stops after Cameron Toll until Straiton. If some twat then decides that they want to get off the bus after that then they've only themselves to blame. |

My sentiments exactly. Fireworks were lit and bunting was unravelled the day I past my driving test and didn't have to sit on another 37 or the equivalent during rush hour.
Whilst I personally think the new tram system is an unnecessary white elephant, at least the resulting service will not be slowed down/disrupted by road works/accidents etc, and people know where it will be stopping and when. The biggest problem for the buses is for a large part not the operators, but the roads they have to deal with. If Edinburgh, whilst in the great scheme of things is not the world's most congested city, were to have introduced congestion charges, or in some way reduced personal transport, bus services would be much quicker and more reliable. |
