| Hi Andy
I see you've started with a bold, political, very current question. I feel it's positive to have somewhere where people can express views.
I thought it might be good to widen out the forum a bit too. Might you consider a kind of 'events' section? I know we have 'What's On Penicuik' and there may be other sites, but I was thinking of just a place where members could post of events they are interested in, going to, would like to go to, would have liked to go to - without judgement or comment.
Maybe even books they are reading, or have read, films they are watching? Maybe reviews?
It might help lighten things when there are differences.
Church fetes, Parent-teacher fund-raising, that sort of thing?
I was thinking of an area that is very generally relevent to everyone in some way, and about Midlothian but a bit gentler and easier than arguing the views. |

| | Thanks for the suggestions Wen. If members want to post about topics like those, there is no problem doing so in the Midlothian matters section. If any of them were to prove popular they could be moved to a new section in due course. I suspect that today may be the last day of the old forum so we'll just have wait and see if the interest in this new forum increases or not. |
