Beware of hazard warning sign

This is a warning about a hazard warning sign that someone has put up down at the old railway. As I was approaching it I tried to read what it was saying. Then I suddenly realised that it was warning cyclists about the pieces of metal sticking up from the path. The problem is that it is so close to the hazard that I distracts cyclists from the hazard that has been there for years This is the first time I have come so close to actually hitting them
