which means BP are the cheapest though I guess when they get their next delivery the price will go up again. Just another of the great things about living in the UK!

My son had to go looking for petrol earlier on this evening. The first garage he went to had no unleaded or diesel. However, they were selling super unleaded for £7.61 per litre Shocked Luckily he and the other cars trailing behind him managed to find another garage that had plenty of fuel.

BP & Tesco fuel today 121.9 unleaded / 126.9 Diesel - Seems to be increasing, sure there are calendars in fuel company offices that have the same entry on them every day - "must increase price, must increase price - must rip off the motorists".. When someone said they wouldn't be suprised if petrol was 130 a litre before the end of the year, foolishly I said it was unlikely - must have been me that was the foolish one...
Still our wonderful goverment will step in and help us out - no wait, they'll just add more on through vat & duty... Anyone hear the sound of fuel protests again in the coming months???!

Morrisons at the Gyle was very cheap compared to the Penicuik garages at the weekend. I got unleaded there for £117.9 and think diesel was around £120.9

Another thing which has shot up with the rising oil prices is the cost of Calor Gas cylinders. I can remember when it used to be about £15 for a 15kg refill. In January I paid £29 and the other day it had gone up to £34!!! Someone is making an awful lot of cash somewhere (and it is not the retailers)

Looks likely that the rising fuel costs will hit bus users soon.

Surely the government must realise that ever increasing fuel costs mean prices going up which increases the inflation rate which means prices go up etc etc

Is it not rather strange that a 1p rise in fuel duty results in the price increasing by 2 - 4p a litre but a 1p decrease equals exactly 1p reduction?

Isn't it strange how people still keep going to the BP garage for fuel when it is 5p more for petrol and 2p more for diesel?

Tesco Penicuik, petrol 135.9 / Diesel 139.9
Tesco Eskbank, petrol 132.9 / diesel 138.9 and has been for over a week now
Morrisons - Petrol 132

Now, the question is why are Tesco in Penicuik charging more ? Could it be because BP are still charging the 135.9? For sure if I was filling up and the prices where the same it would be BP who got the business. If your out and about definately worth getting your fuel elsewhere, even Shorts at Eskbank is cheaper..

Probably Tesco keeping the price up to make some money before they get WIPED OUT when Asda opens in the autumn. Unless they do something special I would expect a big loss of business on food and fuel sales - don't be surprised to see a special Asda bus service between Penicuik and the new store plus I imagine Lothian Buses will tweak their services too.

It could all be very interesting!! Very Happy

They must have read this as Tesco now cut their fuel prices by 1p per litre affraid

Anyone know what is happening with the Esso station at Hillend which is closed at the moment, apart from the shop part?
