PostSubject: On my bike   On my bike Icon_minitimeFri Jun 04, 2010 1:40 pm

After a great deal of thought and procrastination I finally decided to take my transport policy colleagues advice and get on my bike. Yes, I've cycled into work in Leith this morning Very Happy I left at just after 6:25am this morning, the roads were quiet and I arrived at my desk at 7:24am (about 20 minutes earlier than usual). There were one or two encounters with buses when I arrived in town but nothing serious.

However, despite my colleagues extolling the benefits of this cycling lark, I have to say that there is no gain without pain Razz At lunch time I decided to go the extra mile or 6 and explore a cycle path near my work. Eventually, after passing Crewe Toll I found a sign telling me that I was heading for the Forth road bridge. At this point I decided to turn back as I was starting to become somewhat saddle sore.

Now I just have to work up the enthusiasm to make the return journey tonight. I must admit the thought of Liberton Brae fills me with dread Smile I just hope that the wind will be behind me though.

Right, oh well, as I said, I had to ask Smile Anyway, I can definitely confirm that it is harder to come from Edinburgh than going due to the hills and the sun that kept beating down Sad I made it though, arriving at the same time as the 47 or X47 that I would have taken usually Smile
