| I hate food shopping at the best of times but last week when we were doing the weekly shop in Sainsburys, all the freezers were out of action. This week when we finished we went to the checkouts which seemed to be rather busy due to problems accepting payments Luckily we use cash so there was no problem for us, but the queues for the cash machines were very large As it was the end of the month, I usually buy fuel for the car but of course the petrol station was also having problems. Thankfully the one at Straiton was still working http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11458962 | |

| As if yesterday wasn't bad enough, today we went to East Fortune market for a look round. When we arrived I managed to park my car opposite a fish and chip van. I was then sent to buy some chips for our lunch. As I was handing over a £20 note to pay for it, the wind suddenly caught it and it started to float to the ground. However, before it hit the ground another gust swept it under the van. I quickly lay on the ground (despite it being wet) and tried to reach it through the 8 inches of space that was available. Although I could just touch it, I was unable to pull it towards me Thankfully someone was able to give me a long handled brush and I was able to retrieve it before it was blown away never to be seen again I did not realise it at the time, Moira and the kids could not understand why I was scrambling about the ground. After I explained they not stop laughing about it and making fun of me | |
