I see that Midlothian is again to get an all night bus service to get revellers back from the street party in Edinburgh, with regular buses to Penicuik, Dalkeith & Gorebridge. Other info I've heard of also suggests that Lothian will be running 31's & 37's into Midlothian on Boxing Day, whilst First will be operating the 62 & X95 on Boxing Day & Jan 1st (although curiously no 2nd of Jan service), the Jan 1st service is to be 2 hourly so the only day with no bus service in Midlothian is Dec 25th..

I know the buses have difficulties at the moment with all the snow (especially in Edinburgh where they seem to be doing nothing about it) but yesterday was one of the worst I have seen with FIVE 37s in Clerk Street, Loanhead at the same time. Two were going in to Edinburgh (I was on one) with 3 coming out. It must be difficult for Lothian Buses when their majority shareholder makes life so difficult for the company to operate!

Not really anything to do with the subject header, anyway as of 10 Jan 2011 Firstbus are revising many of its services in East Lothian & Midlothian. In particular service 141 is undergoing a timetable review with some extra journies, by day they will also operate into the grounds of the Midlothian Community Hospital at Bonnyrigg, meanwhile the current 140 is being withdrawn and replaced by a 142 which will operate between Fort Kinnaird & Straiton retail parks via the 141 route so doubling the number of buses between Dalkeith & Loanhead, and finally the current 40A which covers about 3 journies to Penicuik in the mornings is set to become a 241. School service 139 will see some timetabling changes, the Dalkeith - Woodburn Service 90 is being withdrawn and replaced by a new 92 / 92A which will also cover part of the route currently followed by the 302 & 303 which are also being withdrawn.

Yesterday when I got off the bus in Princes street I could see an X47 pulling out from the bus stop on the other side of the road. However, not to worry, as there were two 47s just behind it.

Seems to be a standard thing now. Perhaps in the New Year we will see a new service number 74 to replace the 2 x 37s!

Question

Not just the 37's that run around in pairs, yesterday I was at the bus stop for the 1432 141 from Dalkkeith to Penicuik (which still hadn't pitched up at 1520), anyway during that time if one 49 turned up then at least two did & if 1 3 turned up then 2 did with large gaps in between. How did I get home, well finally gave up on waiting on worstbus 141 and got a 3 (2 turned up at once) to Cameron Toll then a 47 from there, which incidently turned up with 2 37's and a part route 47!!!
