| What's happening to the car wash 'n' wax place that was along from Tesco? it always seemed to be really busy but I noticed that was week or so nobody has been near the place. | |

| I rather fear they've left for good. It's certainly been closed for quite a while now.
They were from Poland and things seem to be improving over there now, so maybe they've just gone home.
On the other hand, thinking back, nobody ever seems to stay long on that site. When it was a filling station, it seemed to change hands evry few months.
Too expensive? | |

| Who knows what is happening - as usual, in Penicuik nobody is told what is going on in the town (or should that be NOT going on?) I hope that Tesco (who own the petrol station site AFAIK) will do something with it and not just leave it like they did for many years after buying it back in 2003. | |

| If the site is still owned by Tesco, I'd suggest contacting them in the first instance. | |

| Best of luck! Surely better for the site to be getting used than lying empty, you would think... | |

| ....yes! But then again this is Penicuik where they would rather have empty shops and derelict buildings just sitting there doing nothing rather than being used. (eg. car wash, Jackson Street school, old YMCA site, numerous shops in High Street, The Square and John Street, bookies hut next to Tesco, old Noble's garage site etc etc) Feel free to add any other ones I have forgotten about - there are so many it is easy to miss some! | |

| Sam Tyler, you better watch out, or you are in danger of being tarred with that 'Penicuik whinger' brush by Septic Sam, who appears to think that the sun shines out of Penicuik's (or his) arse. Let's face it, Penicuik has become a suburban domicile, soon to be swallowed up by the greenbelt erosion. The half-hour commute will become a stop-start snarl-up thanks to the ill-considered bus-priority nonsense (should it ever be completed - the management of this project needs examination), and we will no longer be able to thank our lucky stars that we, at least, don't have to suffer the lengthy struggles from west and east. It was suggested to me recently, by a cynical neighbor, that, once all the park-and-rides are made available from all major approaches, we will have road tolls forced upon us (sorry, of course I mean congestion charges), it’s all utter pish. ‘They’re’ just pissing all over us. | |

| It's open again. (For the time being, anyway.)
The Fire Brigade is there right now, washing cars for charity. | |
