Food recycling

Received a leaflet from our wonderful council about the latest addition to all our ever expanding family of bins, yes another bin on its way (dates to be confirmed) so we can all start recycling food including left overs, egg shells & t bags... Wonderful I thought now another bin to keep in the garden, oh and just for good measure a second smaller food bin will be provided to keep in the house before putting it into the external bin... No detail in the leaflet about when this will start or what the frequency of pick up will be etc, for that we need to wait on another leaflet (at more expense to the council that's strapped for cash)...

At least Midlothian did not make the costly mistakes like Edinburgh with lots of bins / boxes /bags then realising that fewer bins made it easier for people to recycle. It will be interesting next summer to see how the food waste boxes smell on a hot day (I know that sounds unlikely).
