Not only are they digging up everywhere to make way for fabulous Lidl but Kirkhill Road is now also making way for speed bumps - if you are going up or down Kirkhill be very careful as they have just started this today.

Why do they need them, especially as the lower section of that road is really single track now?
I thought the cooncil were supposed to be hard up but they always seem to have money for useless projects like this (or the bus lanes or the hardly open park and ride office)Evil or Very Mad No

Noticed the diggers yesterday but had no idea of the plan, I can only hope this is just a joke and the diggers are there to do something constructive...

That road is bad enough as it is when you are going up it without more obstacles Mad

Yes I can confirm it is just a joke, another Midlothian Council joke that is - roads around the area are crumbling there are pot holes everywhere and driving through Ladywood is like driving over a ploughed field but they are installing speed bumps on Kirkhill Road - WHY??? With the volume of parked cars down there normally its impossible to go fast, no school or nursery anywhere near. Clearly the council has too much money to waste.

It is a complete joke that they are doing this although I do have to say that some cars do tend to belt down the hill at some speed but not that often and certainly not enough to warranty speed bumps. I don't know how many they are putting in place but the first one as you come round the corner from the main road seems to be finished, it isn't that high though and you would probably drive over it without feeling anything unless you were going really fast which never happens at this part of the road anyway!
