Today the street fair was on and it was amazing to see so many people in the town centre goes to show that locals like to get out and support local events, a shame they don't always support the local shops..

Even more work ongoing at the moment - fomer Peni Deli getting gutted out and refurbished though no indication what for, seems to be something happening at former Ingman's shop in John Street (though very intermittent work), plans for the Storehouse community shop are in the window at the former Nickel and Dime place and former Carnethy Electrical shop being worked on - nice to see something happening for a change! Very Happy

Also, the Peni-Deli has been taken over by a Turkish bloke. He plans to open a Turkish Bistro.

Can anyone remember when that place was a butcher's shop? The Turkish fellah has stripped back the walls to expose old tiles, some of which depict cattle and pigs. (I didn't notice any sheep, though.) He seems to be re-cladding the walls with plasterboard now, but leaving the old animal pictures on view.
