Noticed today that temporary CCTV cameras have been installed on the A701 at the Mauricewood Road and Queensway junctions. I assume these are to check on traffic conditions - anyone know anything about them?
Good Evening Sam. The camera at the Mauricewood Road junction was removed between 8pm and 9pm 8/9/11. I'm not sure what it was for, but it was not there long!

Hi TJS96 and welcome to the forum. If the cameras were being used to monitor traffic conditions, perhaps it would be useful if they were to look at what is happening at Gowkley Moss roundabout for a while. I can't help but wonder just how many narrow escapes there have been that we don't know about.

Sounds like a very sensible idea Andy (so unlikely the council will do that!) In this week's Advertiser councillor Les Thacker is asking for info from people about problems around Gowkley Mess so it will be interesting to see what response he gets.
