Well, we're back from holiday now. We had booked a house for a week in Sleights near Whitby but had to cut it short to
go to the funeral on Friday. However, we had a very nice time exploring Whitby, York, Scarborough and Pickering.
On the last day we went home via a small village called Rusarp.
They have some rowing boats for hire so I took one of the kids out. At one point I managed to lose an oar :oops:but
after some manoeuvring with the other oar I managed to retrieve it. By this time I thought we had better go back to the jetty.
However, I heard a splash and saw this young girl fall out of her kayak into the water. I managed to row over and Chantell
managed to help the girl into the boat. Her mother and father then came alongside and between us we managed to upright
the kayak and get her back into it. I then brought the boat round and headed for the jetty but unfortunately I came in at the
wrong angle. We hit the jetty, I fell backwards with my legs in the air and I just burst out laughing
