Following a request from Sir Robert Clerk, a Community Litter Pick has been organised for Saturday 3rd May. Meet at Carlops Road Car Park at the Estate. A couple of hours of your time would be of great help. Thank you

The above was part of my contribution to the litter pick today.

As I was leaving to go home I pulled into the car park to drop off my picker and a
spare sack. Chris was not there as he had gone with his van to look into some bottles
in a field. A guy was coming out of the woods with his dog and by the look on his face
he did not look very happy. It seems that he had thought that the stuff that Chris had
left had been illegally dumped. Luckily I was able to put him straight Smile

Thanks again Andy for your help. Once again, it was a very poor turn out. Single figures. It seems that living in a litter free town isn't top of residents priorities. However, despite the lack of volunteers, we still managed to fill the trailer.

When you consider the amount of owners who walk their dogs in Penicuik Estate? Not one offered to help. One couple out jogging stopped to thank us for clearing the contents of someone's garage from the side of the road. It had been annoying them for a while????? Beggars the question
