Community Litter Pick 5th March Beeslack Woods

Usual script. Meet at Tesco Car Park 9.30. It would be nice to see some knew faces to help make a difference to our community. Even an hour ?

Well, there seemed to be a few people turned up for the litter pick. When I arrived I noticed that a litter bin at the side of the road had been dismantled and the contents strewn around, so my first task was to sort that. After that there was plenty of litter to be picked. Fighting my way through the trees one of the branches yanked my glasses off and I almost lost them The weather was fine and it's thirsty work and when I found an unopened can of Bellhaven beer it was so tempting to quench my thirst  However, I decided to play safe and emptied the contents before putting the can into my bag. These are some of the pictures showing how bad it was and this was only the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks once again Andy for your support. There was indeed a good turn out thanks mostly to the players,coaches,mums and dads from Penicuik Athletic Youth Football Club. They seemed to have had a great time.

I notice that there is a poster outside Beeslack High School giving a list of dates for litter picks. There is supposed to one tomorrow for Beeslack woods. As we already did this one a few weeks ago, is it still on?
