I have just walked along the Beeslack Woods side of Edinburgh Road which is used by the school kids going to and from Tesco each day.
I am asolutely disgusted at the litter mess you can see all the way along, looks like people have been emptying their recycling bins over the edge.
Midlothian council should get Community Service Order workers down there for a few days and get it sorted!
Chris and the litter pick teams usually have a go around April time but this needs a much bigger effort.

Ian, I too had a walk along Edinburgh Road yesterday to pick up my van from Kwik Fit. Horrendous! I was minded to give the litter picks a miss this year due to the poor turn out from the community last year. And by poor, I mean single figures. 3 turned up for the Cuikenburn clean up although Lowrie's Den did produce more.

It's not the Council's responsibility. It's the Woodland Trust. For the past 4 years, ALL of the schools have undertaken litter picks and Glencorse PS have already done their one this year. Sacred Heart in a couple of weeks and I expect the others will get involved including Beeslack. Hopefully they will tackle the area along Edinburgh Road. I scared the shit out of one young lad at lunchtime today when I was passing in the van. He tossed the paper from his chippy into the woods. I tooted my horn and from the look on his face, his arse was making buttons. It's a total disgrace. I have spoken at assembly to all of the pupils years 1 to 4. Obviously fell on deaf ears

I know the feeling. I was driving through traffic lights at Gilmerton at the weekend
and Moira pointed to this young guy who casually tossed a paper cup over a fence Evil or Very Mad
