Penicuik - Dalkeith walkway

I went for a bike run with my grandson today along the Penicuik - Dalkeith walkway only to find that it is closed after Dalmore. Last week I noticed that the path surface had been scraped away and wondered if they were going to resurface it. Just heard from the council that 'Contractors expect the work to be completed around the middle of December. The delay has been caused by poor weather conditions and damage caused to the new surface by members of the public ignoring signs/barriers.'
