http://www.midlothianadvertiser.co.uk/news/39Out-of-order39.4128823.jp

When the Order tried to get a March of 5000+ in Penicuik a few years ago, Maclean was the guy that sat at the Council meeting reeling off all the number of times they'd taken councils to court for the "human right" to march where they liked when they liked as often as they liked regardless of the views of local people.
What's p***ed them off this time is that Midlothian Councillors (God bless them) have decided that one march a day is enough and that that march will (just for a change) not be allowed to go past the local Catholic Church.

Maclean maintained at the meeting last month that "the Orange Order is not a sectarian organisation". I believe Councillors managed not to laugh out loud!

PS --- By the way. This coincides with Loanhead Gala Day which is why the police objected. Perhaps the poll should be asking which event ought to take priority in Midlothian.

Well, it looks as if the Order have lost their case but they still plan to appeal http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/breaking-news/Orange-Order-loses-bid-to.4207820.jp

There should be no encouragement for marches such as this which are carried out purely to inflame old hatreds and antagonise the opposition. Religious bigotry is still responsible for so much evil in this supposedly civilised world. No No No
