Well done to him - my daughter's passed her theory but has still to sit het practical test yet. I might not have fingernails left by the time she does...

Congratulations to him. He will be a safer driver after taking a while to pass through having more experience. A driving instructor I know told me that 17 year olds who pass with little training are one of the most dangerous drivers as they think they are great but lack experience.

That was the good news. The bad news was that when he came home there was a card from the post office waiting for him. It said that there was a letter without a stamp waiting for him at the delivery office and he would need to go and pick it up. A neighbour drove him along and he had to pay £1.27 before they would give it to him. When he opened it, it turned out to be a letter from Argos telling him that his application for a job with them had been turned down. Talk about adding insult to injury Shocked Mad
