Well, I've done my good deed for today
After doing our weekly shopping at Cameron Toll we were heading back to the car when we passed two women who were trying to jack up their car as it appeared to have a puncture. I was going to pass them by as they seemed to be managing but then I thought that I'd better ask if they needed help. They said that they would like me to, so I started turning the jack. However, it didn't seem to be raising the wheel. I then realised that they definitely needed help as they had missed the jack point and put it in the wrong place. It only took me about 10 minutes to finish the job but it was quite satisfying.
The spare tyre was only one of those dodgy little ones and I told them that it should only be used temporarily to get home. However, I guess it was better than having one of those even dodgier 'inflate with rubber' devices that manufacturers seem to be putting in new cars. At least their flat tyre may be fixed if it's in the right place.
