Parking in Penicuik Empty

The other week Moira and her friend were in Penicuik as usual. However, Moira isn't getting about
as fast as she used to and after going for something to eat and looking round the shops they
came back to the car to find a parking ticket. It seems that you are only allowed 2 hours to park
and they had just missed the deadline.

Does anyone know who is responsible for the parking just outside B & M? It seems ridiculous that
you are only allowed 2 hours to park Mad

The parking is managed by a private company but they have no legal powers - the "parking ticket" is only an invoice and it is up to you if you wish to pay it.
Lots of info about this can be found here:

Let us know how they get on!

You might get threatening sounding letters saying the price of the 'fine' will go up, but you can ignore them too. It happened to us at the shopping centre in Livingston, another private company. They sent letters saying it was being passed to their legal department etc, but they have no powers at all to make you pay.

Thanks, my son has just had months of hassle from a private company who were trying to
collect two 'fines' of £140 from him Mad

The point is that 2 hours is far too small and you shouldn't have to be wary of receiving a 'fine' every time
you go to Penicuik to do some shopping.

Things being what they are these days, I'm surprised they aren't paying you to go shopping in Penicuik. Shocked
